Join us at this monthly discussion series and forum and invitation to further co-create a permaculture community in Traverse City and the NW Michigan region. This is an inspired endeavor growing locally and organically from the 2013 Michigan Permaculture Convergence, and catalyzed by Little Artshram and friends.
Our February community forum and discussion will focus on three topics that speak to some of the ways and how-to’s of growing, storing, preserving, preparing, and eating nutrient dense food.
Joining us will be Brenda Baran, Nutrional Therapy Practitioner, sharing her knowledge about our digestive system; how it works properly, and what can lead to dysfunction. She will also discuss her take on probiotics/gut microbes and how they affect our overall health. Brenda L Baran, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner will also introduce the Weston Price Foundation, and some of the lifestyle changes and suggestions of WAPF.
Shared discussion with all about the practice and art of fermentation and an invitation to view all or/a portion of the Sandor Katz instructional fermentation workshop video.
The third presentation will be sharing information and introducing the Bio Nutrient soil testing/crop production and upcoming workshop offerings. The Bio-Nutrient workshop will be held with a Permaculture Design Course, in Traverse City in Fall/2014 with Dan Kitteridge and Mark Cohen of the Bio-Nutrient Food Association.
Donations accepted for the 2014 Traverse City PDC and LLOOF (Learning Local on Organic Farms) scholarship fund.
Fresh Food donations accepted for the Friends Meeting House Community Meal program.
