“GOOD FOOD FIGHT for our FUTURE” MONDAY, February 27th….
Mapping out MORE Community and Neighborhood Gardens in TC….
JOIN a day of action in solidarity in Traverse City with the OCCUPY OUR FOOD SUPPLY as our community works to build and organize a network of community and neighborhood garden sites in Traverse City!
We will “occupy” some of TC’s favorite and awesome coffee shops and eateries with a BIG map and start tagging places that will transform our town into a plethora of food growing landscapes—asking folks to take a pledge with food producing plants and take back our food supply! This will be a daylong event—-8:30 AM until 9:00 PM.
We invite you and your organization to GET INVOLVED in launching this 2012 gardening program where street-scapes, empty lots, yards, and neighborhood and community gardens transform Traverse City into bountiful food-scapes!
We will happily, OCCUPY a table throughout the day, meeting and greeting folks, inviting you to put your wished for, or thriving community and neighborhood garden site on the site map, and pick up HOW-to: FOOD & OUR FUTURE event info. as we organize our version of a “good food-fight”—reclaiming and rebuilding a resilient food security plan for Traverse City.
