Join us for a special series for an ECO-SPRING BREAK…with a series of Earth Day Parade Design Team Workshops
For youth 12 years to adult!
MARCH 30th through APril 3rd, 10 am until 3 pm
This Spring Break series of workshops is offered to upper elementary, Jr. and High School, and NMC students and adult learners too!
Join us as we explore the method of permaculture design systems applied to parade building and community organizing! Learn the skills of a puppet and mask-maker, parade design and storyboard, with a generous dose of ecological gardening design skills, as you become a part of the official 2009 Earth Day Parade Design Team.
The Earth Day Parade Design Team participants will then be invited to apply their design skills hosting 3 weekend workshops to assist community members and families build their masks, costumes and create BIG puppets for the 2009 Parade!
The 2009 Earth Day Parade will take place on Saturday, April 25th. This years' parade and storytelling theme will be "Growing and Gardening" focusing on our "back and front yard" gardens and how we address water issues and global warming as well as the parade puppet and mask story.
Brian Beauchamp from, TC-350, a movement working towards local solutions to global warming will participate in this year's programs and workshops. They will share information about 350—it's goals and ways to get involved. See www.350.org for more info.
