EARTH DAY PARADE PLANNING MEETING for 23rd Annual 2012 Grand Traverse Earth Day Parade: Monday, March 19th @ 5:00 pm @ Horizon Bookstore, lower level in Traverse City….



This year’s parade theme: “The Great Lakes: Our Living Water”

We members of the human species to show up and be “Earth Day Parade counted” to help make this 2012 annual community celebration the BEST one yet!

Invite your friends, families, and whole neighborhoods!  Let’s fill the streets, on our feets, (or bicycles)!

WHO MIGHT ATTEND & FIND OUT HOW THEY MAY BENEFIT & CONTRIBUTE to this years’ Earth Day Celebration: classroom teachers and school administrators/board members, members of the DDA/DTCA, construction workers and builders, tinkerers and cobblers, farmers and gardeners, musicians, dancers, NMEAC members, garbage art and recycled artists, TC City government employees, folks who run food pantrys and homeless shelters, Great Lakes Bioneers, folks involved in other awesome, environmental organizations like SCRAP and BARC, other business, restaurant and coffee shop owners, College students and faculty (Parade building 101 may be a credited course!)….

JOIN IN on the fun! Mark your calendars for the 23rd Annual Grand Traverse Earth Day Parade, Saturday April 28th….

This year’s parade theme is “The Great Lakes: our Living Water”, focusing on all the species that live in our Great Lakes watershed.

We are putting out the call for a puppet repair and BIG puppet building design crew, as well as musicians, puppeteers and folks who wish to be a part of the Parade building workshops to begin the week of April 1st for children, youth and families to get involved in creating masks, costumes and BIG puppets. Stay tuned for our annual Eday Parade Kick-off event to gather the energy, green-backs, Bay Bucks and good ole’ sweat equity to cover the costs of creating this beloved community gathering.
